Grant Opportunities

The HEAL Mini-Grant is a funding opportunity designed to support healthy eating or active living projects focused on policy, systems, and environmental change in community health. Our grants can serve as seed money for new projects, help progress existing ones, or provide the final push to complete ongoing initiatives. Our staff are here to support grantees throughout their journey. We offer guidance in executing projects, troubleshooting issues, and fostering connections with other local community health initiatives.

Fuel Up to Play 60, the free in-school nutrition and physical activity program, offers funding to help schools implement the program.  The competitive funding initiative provides money to help schools jumpstart and sustain healthy nutrition and physical activity improvements.

Through an ongoing grant from the United States Golf Association (USGA), the USGA and the National Alliance for Accessible Golf have joined forces to fund golf programs for individuals with disabilities.

Wellness Inspired School Environments Grant Opportunity.  Children spend more time in schools than in any other                            environment away from home. They also can consume up to 50 percent of their total daily calories at school. It is unlikely                that childhood obesity rates can be lowered without the help of strong school-based policies and programs to support                      physical activity and healthy eating.

Don’t let funding challenges be a barrier to building your climbing wall. Everlast Climbing is proud to offer climbing wall funding support through a grant discount program. The Everlast Climbing Wall Demo-Site Program lets us help you fund your climbing wall. Visit our Demo-Site Program page to get more information. We are also pleased to offer How to Fund Your Climbing Wall: A Comprehensive Guide of Funding Opportunities, Ideas & Resources. The guide includes lists and information about national and state grants that provide funding for physical education equipment, like climbing walls. Other fundraising initiatives are also included in the guide. They are crowdfunding, restaurant fundraising, fundraising through sales, fundraising partnerships and do-it-yourself fundraising ideas. In addition, a multitude of resources, like sample letters and rationale statements, help physical educators achieve their funding goals.

Find an Active Schools activation grant from a partner organization  that is right for your school.  Grant opportunities typically require a school to be enrolled in Active Schools or   give enrolled schools added consideration.

The goal of the grant opportunities within this initiative is to make effective strategic investments in ongoing state, local, and tribal public policy issue campaigns in order to increase public policy impact on healthy weight and living among children. Voices for Healthy Kids is focusing efforts in schools, community, and out-of-school time/early care and education. Applications should support at least one Voices for Healthy Kids Policy Lever.
